How it Works
It starts with a SmartStyle cloud server. Then the MirrorCloud software is installed to desktops or servers. Once installed, the MirrorCloud software then replicates data by volume from the desktop or server to the SmartStyle cloud server, creating a mirror image. This approach to business continuity and disaster recovery allows for up to the second protection for any mirrored system. MirrorCloud supports Microsoft Windows servers and desktops.
After data is mirrored to a SmartStyle, fifteen minute snapshots are created providing point-in-time data recovery. These recovery points can be mounted as a shared network drive that can be exposed directly to users to recover their files. Additionally, administrators can access a point-in-time mount to recover data from their own workstation.
Should a disaster occur, MirrorCloud also includes a System Profile Migration tool, allowing any desktop or server mirrored, to be quickly converted into a virtual server or virtual desktop. Once virtualized the desktop or server can be restored to physical hardware or continue to run on the SmartStyle platform.
