Overview
A key element of delivering a managed service is technology allowing an IT service provider’s engineers to remotely and securely monitor, maintain and manage desktops, servers, network devices and applications at their end-customers’ locations over the Internet. Furthermore, the chosen technology should have the follow qualities:
1. It should be easy to provision and install.
2. It should not require a VPN to the customer site or any firewall/NAT reconfiguration.
3. It must be an integrated offering eliminating the service provider’s need to “cobble together” a full solution.
SAAZ is a hosted remote management platform which meets the criteria of a mature managed services and remote management delivery platform. Setting up customers is as easy as filling out a web form and installing agents on unmanaged desktops and servers. A service provider does not have to purchase hardware to host SAAZ, track license usage or manage the software. The IT service provider’s engineers can use SAAZ to manage desktops, servers, SNMP network devices and applications from a single web portal and remote administration console. All SAAZ components operate outbound over port 443 utilizing 128-bit encrypted connections. SAAZ does not require firewall or NAT reconfiguration or any in-bound access.
